33rd Annual Christmas Tree-Cycle Day
was Saturday, January 5th
If for some reason we missed your tree, please call John Ourant at 541-708-3942. We'll be picking up stray trees over the next couple of days.
If we picked up your tree and you wanted to give a donation but a scout did not come to your door or leave an envelope, you can mail a check to P. O. Box 839, Ashland, OR, made out to "Troop 112." With the strong winds on Saturday, scouts sometimes couldn't figure out which house a tree came from.
Ashland Boy Scout Troop 112 and its sponsoring organization, the Ashland Lions Club, picks up Christmas trees for recycling in Ashland, usually on the first Saturday in January. Trees are chipped by the Ashland Parks Department and used as mulch in Ashland city parks. This project benefits the citizens of Ashland, the scouts of Troop 112, and the environment. The scouts are able to perform a service and the community is invited to support the scouts. Additionally, turning hundreds of trees into mulch enhances our parks while sparing our landfills.
