Adult Training Requirements

Q: What training is required for parents and adults for participation?

A: Nothing is more important than the health and safety of our scouts. All leaders registered with the troop and any parents who accompany scouts on activities are required to take the BSA Youth Protection training. There is no charge for this online course. More information can be found here: http://www.scouting.org/Training/YouthProtection.aspx. A my.scouting.org account is necessary to take the training. Renewal is required every two years.

Additional training is offered for various troop positions. See http://www.scouting.org/Training/Adult.aspx.

A my.scouting.org log in is required for adult leaders who need to take the Safe Swim Defense, Safety Afloat, Weather Hazards, Climb On Safely, Trek Safely. Other training such as CPR and Wilderness First Aid is taken through the various organizations that offer these courses.
